National Senior Certificate Award: Students enrolling in their first year at The IIE’s Varsity College with a National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 equivalent averaging 80% across six subjects (excluding LO) qualify for this award. It cannot be combined with an Academic Scholarship.
Bursaries (Scholarships):
- Excellence Scholarship: For students with a Grade 11 average of at least 75% or 4 subjects (excluding LO) averaging 80% or higher.
- Achiever Scholarship: Awarded to candidates with a Grade 11 average of at least 60% and a household income below R400,000 per annum. Applicants must submit a 600-word motivation. Only for South African citizens.
Schools Quiz Bursary: Awarded to the top 3 schools in the Schools Quiz competition, given to a deserving individual at each school.
Open Day Bursary: Competition held during Open Days. Entrants must meet qualifying criteria for interviews and applications.
Activation Bursary: Open to schools through Schools Activations campaigns. Awarded through a competition to Grade 12 students from these schools.
Bursaries (Leadership): For prospective undergraduate contact students who held senior leadership roles in their matriculating schools. One-year bursary, not renewable.
National Sports Club Bursaries: Available to students interested in joining competitive sports clubs with high sporting performance.
Discretionary Sport Bursaries: For students achieving National Senior Protea colors in 2023, with preference for those participating in sports where Varsity College competes in USSA Championships.
Sports Club Administrator Bursary: Awarded to current students elected as Sports Club Administrators, as per VC Voice Constitution. One-year bursary based on performance.
Bursary-Family Loyalty: Awarded to students with immediate family members concurrently studying at Varsity College/Vega/IIE MSA. Value is 5% of the qualification tuition for the current academic year.
