SAMRO Foundation annually invites applications for bursaries worth R11,000 for music students. These bursaries cover tuition fees and are exclusively applicable for the academic year they are granted. However, certain criteria exclude students from private higher education institutions such as City Varsity, COPA, AFDA, and Academy for Sound Engineering, as well as first-year university students, those in foundation or bridging programs, students specializing in Musical Theatre or Music Therapy, and doctoral level students.
Successful bursary recipients have the funds disbursed directly to their educational institutions for the academic year, with restrictions on transferability to other degrees or diplomas.

SAMRO Bursary Requirements And Eligibility The bursary is applicable for:
Full-time students, Enrolled at a South African University, In 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years, or pursuing honours and masters degrees, Citizens of South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, or Swaziland, Students pursuing a degree or diploma with a major in music.
