The First one is the Bursary from UFS

The University of the Free State (UFS), in partnership with Media24, is offering the Matriculant of the Year competition for prospective students currently in Matric. This competition, with a history spanning over 40 years, provides bursaries, prizes, and opportunities to winners excelling in academics, sports, culture, or leadership.

These bursaries aim to cultivate skilled individuals vital for the advancement of the agricultural sector. Recipients are expected to meet certain obligations including regular updates on their academic progress, maintaining good conduct, and participation in Hortgro events. The bursary is renewable annually based on satisfactory academic performance and offers recipients access to mentorship throughout their studies.

Eligible applicants must be South African citizens, have completed or be in Matric, and intend to pursue studies in one of the specified fields in 2025 at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa. Masakh’iSizwe (MiS) Bursary South Africa 2025

The Masakh’iSizwe (MiS) Bursary Programme, administered by the Western Cape Government’s Department of Infrastructure, aims to address skills shortages in sectors like transport, engineering, and the built environment. Bursaries are awarded annually to students pursuing degrees or diplomas in fields such as Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Transport Economics, prioritizing those from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, females, individuals with disabilities, and those from the Western Cape. The programme covers various expenses including tuition fees, accommodation, and provides support services like mentorship and internship opportunities.

To apply, South African citizens must either be in Matric or have completed it, intending to study full-time at specified universities in the Western Cape in 2025. Applications can be submitted online or manually, with supporting documents like academic records, proof of registration, and financial statements required. Sappi offers undergraduate bursaries for Engineering and Forestry Science degrees at South African universities. Bursaries are available for various engineering fields, including Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, and Mechatronics Engineering, as well as Forestry and Wood Science.

To be eligible for a Sappi bursary, applicants must be South African citizens aged between 17 and 25 years old, have completed Matric or currently be in Matric, and have achieved specific grades in Maths, Physical Science, and English. Preference is given to applicants from communities surrounding Sappi operations who meet the academic requirements.
