Bursaries closing August 2024

We have have compiled a list of bursaries for the 2025 academic year with closing dates in August 2024. These bursaries aim to support tertiary education for South African citizens who demonstrate financial need, possess a good academic record, and are hardworking.

Clockwork Empowerment Fund Bursary Applications 2023

Clockwork is dedicated to transforming lives through education, and is pleased to announce the opening of applications for young students aspiring to further their education through fully funded bursaries. The Clockwork Empowerment Fund allocates a portion of company profits annually to sponsor the bursaries of three to five deserving young female students. These bursaries cover degrees and diplomas in the Marketing and Advertising sector, enabling recipients to pursue courses at their chosen educational institutions.

NAC Bursary Funding

  1. Block Institutional Grants for Undergraduate Studies: These grants are allocated to undergraduate students through applications submitted by institutional heads of departments. Individual undergraduate students cannot apply directly to the NAC. These bursaries are specifically designated for undergraduate-level studies.
  2. Individual Postgraduate Funding: Postgraduate students pursuing arts qualifications may apply directly to the NAC for funding. Funding for postgraduate qualifications is awarded based on academic merit. Applicants achieving less than 65% will not be considered. In cases where tuition fees are already covered from other sources, funding may be directed towards accommodation, books, travel, and subsistence allowances.

UNISA Postgraduate Bursary Application

Important Notes:

  1. Application Submission: Only online applications submitted via the myUnisa link app will be considered. No hard copy, email, or hand-delivered applications will be accepted. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
  2. Registration Requirement: Students must be temporarily registered by 31 January 2024 for their registration to be activated once the application is successful.

Master’s and PhD Bursaries

The NRF has opened applications for DSI-NRF Postgraduate Student Funding for the 2024 academic year.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Minimum Academic Requirement: 65%
  • Age Limits:
    • Honours: 28 years or younger
    • Master’s: 30 years or younger
    • Doctoral: 32 years or younger

Vodacom Group Bursary Programme

Vodacom Group Bursary Programme is open to fulltime first-year, second-year or third-year students intending to study or are studying towards Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics fields but may lack necessary resources to study further.

Stanlib Bursary

The Stanlib Bursary is a financial assistance program provided by Stanlib, a leading asset management company based in South Africa. The bursary is aimed at supporting academically talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue their tertiary education. It covers tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, accommodation, and sometimes additional expenses related to studies.

Adapt IT Bursary Programme

Adapt IT is a South African company and a member of Volaris Group Inc., which is a subsidiary of Constellation Software Inc. (CSI), a listed company on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Adapt IT is a Level 1 Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) contributor. The company provides specialized software and digitally-led business solutions to clients across various industries, helping them improve customer experience, core business operations, business administration, enterprise resource planning, and public service delivery.

SASMT Study Bursary – SAVMO Studiebeurs

The SASMT Study Bursaries aim to support current SASMT members pursuing further music studies.

These bursaries are granted biennially to South African citizens accepted for studies at a South African tertiary institution.

Exclusively available to SASMT members with a membership of over two years, the availability of bursaries is subject to the surplus funds of SASMT.

FMCSA Ford Bursary

Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) supports the youth of South Africa in realizing their aspirations for a brighter future by offering valuable workplace experience annually. FMCSA sponsors top final year students to complete their academic qualifications. Bursary recipients may also be considered for the Graduate Trainee Program upon successful completion of their studies. Deadline: Open.

idc bursary

The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) is inviting students to apply for the IDC External Bursary Programme for the 2024 academic year. Applications will be accepted from July 1, 2023, with the closing date set for September 30, 2023.

INVESTEC BURSARIES

Who may apply?

Please note the following application criteria:

  • Applicants must be entering Grade 10, 11, or 12.
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need and academic potential.
  • Applicants must exhibit strong academic potential in the fields of pure Maths, Accounting, and Science.

ITHUBA Holdings RF (Pty) Ltd, the 3rd National Lottery Operator, is committed to ensuring that South African youth, particularly from previously disadvantaged communities, have access to quality education to bridge social divides. For the year 2024, ITHUBA is offering 100% bursaries to qualifying students, and applications are now open.

Katapult Business School Bursaries

  • Requirements: Minimum 75% in Core Mathematics or Accounting and English (1st language) OR minimum 80% in English (2nd language), overall average of 80% or more.
  • Benefits: Covers 100% of KATAPULT Tuition and Examination fees for a full year.
  • Student Responsibility: KATAPULT registration fee, textbooks, and other miscellaneous fees.

KN Inzuzo Trust Bursary

KN INZUZO is pleased to announce a bursary opportunity for black South African women who are experiencing financial need and are currently enrolled in their 2nd year, 3rd year, or postgraduate studies.
